This Brownie Mix is about time! Over the years we have put a twist on our various mixes to create pretty much everything in the baking line from Bakewells to banoffees and now brownies!

Burns Night - 25th January

As we approach Burn’s Night – I simply can’t resist showing you Edith’s Thistle Cakes as they are such a great idea to celebrate the great Scottish poet.  Edith made the thistle from fondant and lustre dust using a cake decorating mould and the tartan is printed rice paper that she purchased from E-bay and cut out the toppers from the sheet. 

The base cake is Wrights Ginger Cake Mix, once cooled the centre is taken out with a cupcake corer, then the hole filled with a little vanilla buttercream and  a whisky liqueur chocolate, finally push the cake centre back in, cover with a thin layer of vanilla buttercream and decorate with tartan topper and fondant thistle.
