What was your highlight of Cake & Bake Show 2014?
I loved every minute of this year's Cake & Bake Show but a highlight for me was meeting this year's contestants from the Bake Off ... I cannot wait for Wednesday's final!
Any hints or tips you picked up this year that you would like to share?
I picked up loads of tips from Peter Sidwell and all of the Bake Off Champions but my favourite was Jo Wheatley's tip of melting chocolate for piping. Just break the chocolate pieces directly into a disposable piping bag and place the bag in a jug of hot water. The chocolate melts and you have no washing up!
How many times have you compered/presented at the Cake & Bake Show?
This will have been my 4th Cake and Bake Show hosting in the Competition Theatre. I love the buzz at the show and meeting all my favourite chefs and bakers.
Who is your baking inspiration?
My baking inspirations are Mary Berry and Nigella Lawson.. .. both wonderful women in a male dominated world and their recipes never fail.
Did you enjoy your time back at Coronation Street and what’s next for you?
It was lovely to be back at Corrie for a few weeks and to catch up with everyone. I appear on screen on 22nd October. I'm now moving onto White Christmas, with rehearsals starting next week. We open November 8th at the Dominion Theatre in London's West End.
Anything else you would like included/or to add?
I would like to say a big thanks to all at Wright's Baking and all the members of their home- baking club who visited the show ... There wouldn’t be a show without them and the crowds were wonderful.
