At Wright’s we specialise in making the very best quality flours and mixes for your baking. All made by a family business with 140 years milling know how.
With it's 17th century mill flanked by a Georgian mill house and Georgian offices, and close by, a 16th century great barn and numerous other listed buildings, Ponders End Mills is one of the most complete groupings of historical industrial buildings still being worked in Greater London. This rare survivor is set within meadows bisected by a tributary of the River Lea, and is something of an oasis in Ponders End's industrial landscape. However, appearances can be deceptive as behind the historic facade is a large, modern food-factory - with a number of state-of-the-art facilities - which operates to standards of quality and hygiene, which satisfy the most discerning of clients.
When George Wright first came to Ponders End Mills some 140 years ago, he established a simple business principle - products which were to bear his name would be made with only the finest ingredients, using the most modern techniques. Four generations later, this principle is still being followed by his great, great grandson David Wright.
Wright’s range of speciality bread and cake mixes has everything in the pack - all you need to do is add water and oil where stated. Home baking is quicker, easier and with perfect results every time.
The range of bread mixes includes, Sunflower, Ciabatta, Mixed Grain, Scofa, Premium White, Wholemeal, Malty, Parmesan & Sundried Tomato, Naan, Organic Stoneground Wholemeal, Garlic & Rosemary Focaccia, Chilli, Cheese & Onion, Malt & Seedy and Oat & Linseed. The mixes work wonderfully by hand, in your oven at home and are excellent in bread making machines.
The range of cake mixes includes Ginger, Carrot, Madeira, Toffee and Chocolate Fudge. All create a deliciously moist cake, again from your oven at home or uniquely in a bread making machine with the addition of just oil and water.
Whilst this is appealing to the huge army of bread machine users in the UK. These bread and cake mixes are perfect for anyone who simply enjoys freshly baked bread and cake with the minimum preparation time and fuss. Wright’s mixes are suitable for vegetarians, can be used for pizza bases and can be mixed by hand, mixer or food processor. In fact, baking bread is not just great fun but very therapeutic.
