The Scofa Milling Company

What a find - The Boss was passed this old advertisement by Brian Davis, thanks so very much. On #ThrowbackThursday, there is not much known about the Scofa Milling Company but our friends at The Mills Archive have helped as always, confirming that the company traded from 1933 to 1980. Originally based in Twickenham but moved to Hounslow in 1934. They ceased trading in 1980 which is when we took on their recipe and to this day kept the name which is based on a SCOttish FArl. Scofa is as wholesome as it’s namesake, a gentle reminder of good things past. Made from the finest quality flour with flakes of wheat bran for high fibre, remembered as large round, brown loaves that could be broken into quarters – as they still are today! Undated, but the style of the advertisement below is similar to those of the 1950’s and 1960’s and we are delighted to have this memorabilia.
